This issue is a known Jline v2.x issue which is the version included in Payara Server, and is an unfavourable filling of space in the logs.
As a fix for this issue, a new asadmin property has been implemented to disable JLine logging. The following steps show how this can be done:
Disabling JLine in the asadmin file directly
-
Navigate to '{Payara Install Directory}/bin/'
-
Open the asadmin file (if you are on a Windows PC, open the asadmin.bat file instead)
-
Alter the last line of the file as follows:
-
Change From: exec "$JAVA" -XX:+IgnoreUnrecognizedVMOptions -jar "$AS_INSTALL_LIB/client/appserver-cli.jar" "$@"
-
To: exec "$JAVA" -Dfish.payara.admin.command.jline.log.disable=true -jar "$AS_INSTALL_LIB/client/appserver-cli.jar" "$@"
-
After this, save the asadmin file - The JLine logging will be disabled
